Dr. Ware’s teaching approach is summarized in two downloadable documents: Maxims and Techniques, and The Singing Sphere. Basically, he believes that the relationship between student and teacher is a mutually supportive partnership, with both working to achieve the student's highest potential. The teacher's role is that of facilitator and guide, ever leading the student to greater self-understanding and independence as vocal artist and human being.

OFFERINGS

Vocal Explorations Through Group-Voice Instruction: A 90-minute-plus teaching demonstration involving both observers and participants (6-8 students with solid music skills, age 17 and older), with a focus on developing efficient voice production; first, by experimenting with stereotypical voice productions (breathy, pressed, throaty, nasal, etc.) and; second, by setting up appropriate conditions (freedom from unnecessary tensions) using appropriate techniques. Students learn simple voice-body exercises, and perform simple songs. It's fun!

Eco-Songs: A 50-minute presentation consisting of narration (environmental data), performance (13 songs on environmental themes), and slideshow presentation. Four songs can be heard in the multimedia and video sections. Listen to: Eco Songs: Wonders of the Earth

The Aging Singer: A 50-minute presentation focusing on the aging voice, and consisting of a lecture/demonstration (exploring voice techniques and exercises with the audience and volunteer singers), plus a slideshow and performance (3 songs about aging).

Listen to: The Aging Singer

The Aging Challenge: A 50-minute narration/performance (8 songs), and slide-show featuring information and reflections about aging. Listen to: No One Ever Said Aging Was Easy
